Waiting on Wednesday (#13): Allegiant by Veronica Roth

Waiting on Wednesday is hosted over at Breaking the Spine and gives bloggers a chance to highlight upcoming releases we're excited about.

Allegiant (Divergent, #3) by Veronica Roth
Published: 22nd October (HarperCollins)

Because who isn't waiting for Allegiant? I'll admit parts of Insurgent didn't quite live up to my expectations, but I adored Divergent and overall I've loved the series so far. I'm hoping Allegiant is saving the best til last. The cliffhanger ending of book two certainly has me desperate to read this one!

What are you waiting on this week? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I loved both Divergent and Insurgent, and I might actually have preferred the second book. But I'm really excited for Allegiant too! Not long to wait now :D

    1. Ooh that's interesting! I had a few niggles with it, but it didn't ruin my enjoyment of the series or put me off the book. I'm hoping to reread Divergent this year if I have time. I doubt I'll get round to it before Allegiant - boo! Thanks so much for your comment :D

  2. Dying for this one. I've even gone as far as to think about when I'm going to pick it up that will give me enough time to devour it. Great pick, and that's a nice cover.

    1. I'm reeeeeally hoping my library gets it in because that's where I got Divergent and Insurgent from (although I've since bought Divergent!). I managed to be first in the queue at the library for Insurgent so fingers crossed I have that kind of luck this time :D thanks for your comment!

  4. Yupp, i'm crazy excited for this one! The way Insurgent left off was so perfectly done in my opinion. I love and hate a good cliffhanger. Great choice

    1. Absolutely! My jaw dropped at the end of Insurgent. I agree about love/hate relationships with cliffhangers. But for me the bonus is that the ending is memorable (I have a memory like a sieve and hate being able to not remember what happens - no chance of that with Insurgent!) :D thanks for your comment!

  5. Yes! I'm so excited. I wasn't disappointed by book two at all, actually. I loved it and blew through it in a day.

    Great pick!

    1. I'm glad you liked it! I think I really need a re-read of Insurgent because I think I struggled a bit remembering who was who from the first book and could have done with a refresher before, So hopefully I can re-read them back to back one day and that might change my feelings! Thanks so much for your comment :D

  6. Very soon. Not that long. Darn it, this waiting is killing me. The cover is very different than the one that i've seen. Nice choice.

    1. It's the UK cover :D I wasn't that keen on the redesign (which they did when Insurgent was released). I think they look too similar to the redesigned covers for Lauren Oliver's Delirium series, plus they don't really reflect the tone and theme of the series which is a shame. I much prefer the US covers. Thanks so much for your comment (and I hope the wait hasn't killed you yet!)

    1. You do! I think it's one of the best dystopias out there, especially in terms of concept. Thanks so much for following, it's lovely to meet you!
