Waiting on Wednesday (#18): Echo Boy by Matt Haig

Waiting on Wednesday is hosted over at Breaking the Spine and gives bloggers the chance to highlight future releases we're looking forward to.

Echo Boy by Matt Haig
Published: 27th March 2014 (Bodley Head Children's Books)
Buy: Amazon|Hive
Plot Summary: Audrey's father taught her that to stay human in the modern world, she had to build a moat around herself; a moat of books and music, philosophy and dreams. A moat that makes Audrey different from the echoes: sophisticated, emotionless machines, built to resemble humans and to work for human masters. Daniel is an echo - but he's not like the others. He feels a connection with Audrey; a feeling Daniel knows he was never designed to have, and cannot explain. And when Audrey is placed in terrible danger, he's determined to save her. The Echo Boy is a powerful story about love, loss and what makes us truly human.

I loved The Radleys by Matt Haig and this is his first YA novel. It sounds like a fantastic mix of ideas and I'm really excited to find out more! What are you waiting on this week? Let me know in the comments or link me up and I'll try and stop by your post!

  1. This sounds really interesting, i'm really curious as to seeing if there is another meaning to the synopsis that you will understand when you've read the books. It definitely feels like they're hiding something :) Great choice and looking forward to March now :)
