In My Mailbox/Weekly Round Up - 8th July

In My Mailbox is hosted over at The Story Siren. Be sure to pop over there and check out a great selection of books and blogs!

In My Mailbox

This week the latest book by one of my favourite authors was released! Between the Lines is a YA novel written by Jodi Picoult in collaboration with her daughter. It arrived on Friday morning and I couldn't have been happier with it! I don't want to talk too much about it now because I sense an epic review coming next week ;) Here's my copy <3

Love the cover!

And the illustrations are so beautiful <3

Mug shot! Me and my book.

I tried holding off and saving my money but I just couldn't resist. Jodi Picoult books are the books I always have to have as soon as they come out! I was lucky enough to meet her at a signing last year for Sing You Home. I think she's brilliant.

I've also been trying out my library's online e-book borrowing service this week. I was amazed at their range of YA titles! I've just downloaded 2 for now which I'm hoping to read soon. The books I've downloaded are The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness, which I've read amazing things about, and Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. I've been wanting to read this series for a while but the library didn't have it in physical form so thank goodness for e-books!

The Knife of Never Letting Go (Chaos Walking, #1)

I also received an e-book to review this week - Catching the Fever by Kylee Gwartney which sounds like a really cute read.

Weekly Book Round Up!

2nd - 9th July
Currently Reading: Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

Books finished: Between the Lines by Jodi Picoult and Samantha van Leer (review coming soon!) Silenced by Simon Packham, Evermore by Alyson Noel, The Magical Worlds of Harry Potter by David Colbert, Justice by Jade Varden, Eragon by Christopher Paolini.

Library books: The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness and Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead.

    ALSO!

You are legit in for a treat when it comes to Vampire Academy and The Knife Of Never Letting Go, both books are engaging and wonderful in different ways of course, but super hard to set down.

    Happy reading!

    1. Oh I was really nervous about it before I read it. The Goodreads average isn't that high and I didn't know if it would live up to her other books, but I think it exceded them for me! I really hope you like it :) thanks for your comment! :)

    1. Oh I'm so behind with vampire series. I have Vampire Diaries lined up to read soon and Stargazer by Claudia Gray. I feel like I should spread them out a bit so I don't overload on vampires but it makes it harder to catch up! Hehe. Thanks for stopping by :D

  7. I have yet to read anything by Jodi Picoult, but that illustration is lovely! I've also been wanting to try the Vampire Academy series, but there are too many books in my TBR pile...

Thanks for following my blog! I've followed yours back!

    1. I know the feeling about there being too many books on the pile, and since discovering all the e-books I want to borrow I've ended up neglecting even more of the books I actually own... oops! Hope you find time to read them eventually :) thanks for the follow and for your comment! :)

  8. The final illustrations of Betweent the Lines look gorgeous! I know I really liked the sketches, but I haven't seen the finish copy of it yet. Happy to know you enjoyed it. I personally didn't love it, even though it was quite good. It just wasn't my kind of books.

    Happy Reading!

  9. Nice haul! My library has a similar system, where you can check out Nooks, but I haven't tried them because they're constantly out. :P Vampire Academy is pretty good, hope you enjoy! New GFC follower. =)

    1. Thanks for following! Oh cool, my library just has the e-books available online although there are limited copies available, so for some of them if somebody has already downloaded it then you have to wait til they're done. I still haven't got round to getting my own e-reader yet (I'm waiting for my birthday to come round!) so I'm borrowing a family member's which is handy :P I've checked out your IMM and followed! Have a great week :)
